PUMPKIN BREAD AND CARAMEL TRIFLE

INGREDIENTS:

2 Loaves Pumpkin bread (store bought or your favorite pumpkin bread recipe.)

3 1/2 Cups heavy cream

1/2 Cup sugar

3 Tsp pumpkin spice (Trader Joe’s)

1 13oz Bag of Kraft caramels

4oz. Candied nuts ( store-bought or homemade)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Over a double broiler Combine the caramel and 1/2 cup of heavy cream. Let it slowly dissolve until it becomes the consistency of a caramel sauce. It will take a few minutes, but worth the wait. (make sure to stir it from time to time so that it doesn’t stick to the glass dish).

  2. While that’s going make the pumpkin spice whipped topping by combining the remainder of the heavy cream, sugar, and the pumpkin spice in a bowl.

  3. Using a stand mixer or a hand mixer mix until soft peak is reached. Don’t over beat or else your whipped topping can become runny.

  4. Cube both loaves into about 1 inch size cubes and set aside.

  5. Once the caramel is ready, set aside to cool completely.

  6. Feel free to put your whipped topping in the fridge until you are ready to assemble the trifle.

  7. Once you are ready… Start by adding a bed of the cubed bread to the bottom, add whipped topping and sprinkle the candied nuts, then drizzle some of the cool caramel sauce.

  8. Repeat until you are fully done with your layers and top with more candied nuts, a few cubes of bread and caramel sauce.

  9. That’s it! You now have a delicious dessert that is worthy of being at your holiday gatherings. Honestly… I recommend buying the bread (if you have a good local bakery) and the candied nuts. It makes this dessert a breeze. ENJOY!
